SD card usage in PPC's

Jan 8, 2006 1:04PM PST

I've got a Dell Axim x50 and a 128 MB SD card that I save to every day via my card reader on my desktop. Twice now I've put the SD card into my PPC to read some of the Word docs on it and the disk is completely erased. I've had to go back to the computer and recopy the files to the SD card. Does it sound like the SD card is fried? This didn't happen on my old PPC a Dell Axim x5.

Thanks

Strange...

I'd check a couple of things:

* After you write the card, remove it, wait a few minutes, and pop it back into your PC and see if the data's still there.

* Check if you have any programs on your PDA that may be set to format the card automatically.

* Try performing a soft reset of your PDA...sometimes it just won't read the card right.

* Try another card, as it's most likely the problem.

Hope this helps,
John

what i've done so far

When I pop the card back into the reader on the PC it's completely gone. I haven't added any new programs to the PPC except for 1 game. I did the soft reset once when it did this before and when I popped the card back in it was still erased. When I rewrite the card the info is there I just don't understand what's happening to it.
