SD card reader help.

by mantoe / May 20, 2013 9:28 PM PDT

So I did a windows XP reinstall with sp3 on my Dell Inspiron e1505, everything seems to be working great but my sd card reader. I don't have any errors in the device manager and I tried dell site and it seems that I have all the drivers I need. I would really appreciate all the info in correcting this issue.

Thanks all

Thanks but I already had that driver installed, I did reinstall it again and still no luck. I found in an old post someone ran an autofix from mircosoft, I tried it and got this error message not really sure what it means and if there is something in my settings that need to be fixed.

Let's say you are using the factory issued OS and the drivers as prescribed. Now it's a hardware issue. I rarely replace such readers as the USB version is pretty cheap.

Second idea. Dell QuickSet.

Many if not all Dells have helper apps like Dell QuickSet. Be sure to read the manual about reinstalling the OS as apps are needed beyond drivers to enable features.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
