The only long term storage I know is is where we keep 3 copies on 3 things in 3 locations. That way it's almost impossible to delete them all in the same accident.
As to your busted stick, http://www.drivesavers.com also works on these things.
As to the Ebay thing, read -> http://forums.steves-digicams.com/memory-cards-microdrives-card-readers/96849-fake-sd-cf-memory-cards.html
Bob
a) if a 32gb sd card on ebay auction states "not upgraded card" what does that mean?
and
b) what do the different "classes" of a card mean? if i am in usa and just want to store pics, music and data long term, and be able to swap them from one device to another, does it matter what class i get?
and
c) a nurse forced my sony memory stick duo into my toshiba laptop that does not read sony! so i lost tons of pics of my only babys first days alive
!! is there any way to recover this data that wont cost me $400?
