Scrolling on Word docs in Outline form - bullet repeats

Jan 31, 2008 4:23AM PST

I often do various Word docs in Outline mode using Word 2003. What I find is if I scroll fast it causes the appearance of the doc to look strange where certain bullets in the doc start to repeat themselves on the screen and stay there, even though these "repeat bullets" do not physically become part of the saved doc. At that point all future scrolling does this.

The only way to get rid of it is to go out of the doc and back in again.

Anyone experience this before and/or have any thoughts on it? Thanks.

I encountered that.

The issue was a bum video card driver. A (bad) workaround and test is to lower the video acceleration to none (you can google how to do that for your version of Windows.)

I know how to lower the video acceleration, didn't think about that. But it does make logical sense, thanks!
