If it's broken and you are under a year, I'd call it in.
If you need to get your data off, stop beating the hard disk up and try a KNOPPIX. Read http://tips.oncomputers.info/archives2004/0401/2004-Jan-11.htm

This aftenoon I was watching TV when my laptop beside me started to make a horrible 'BBRRRR' noise and vibrate a bit, I couldnt do anything so I was forced to restart it by holding down the power button, after which it continued to make the awful "Im Broken" noise, and displayed a blue screen stateing the following:
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
*** STOP: 0x000000ED 0x812EBAF8 0xC0000185 0x00000000 0x00000000
I decided to press F12 on startup to run system check and its scanning the hard drive now, the only problem is, a test that was supposed to take around an hour is now in its 6th hour and the scan is at 15%. It's still making the "Im Broken" noise ever so slightly, and gets louder if I move it.
System Specs: Dell Inspiron 1100, 2.4 ghz, 256mb RAM, 20gb Drive, Windows XP. Purchased in December
