Wow...

I must say. I'm impressed. This is actually making me think about changing from my beloved PC and the wonderful taskbar! I still want to know if it will actually work like it was shown all of the time and if there is any special way I have to install the OS for it to operate that way. Still a little hesitant but if it looks exactly like I'm running XP, I might consider a switch in the near future. We'll see what happens...

Just installed Parallels - so far so good
Mar 2, 2007 8:58PM PST

I just installed Parallels, and all I have to say is so far, so good.

However, I'm trying to install it in such a way that I can only access the Internet through my Mac. I don't want to have Windows available to the Internet due to it's inherent problems such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and other security issues.

This is why I got a Mac in the first place!

The Coherence feature has the most appeal to me.

How will you update windows

If the Windows side does not access the internet?

I realize that you could download them in chunks from the MS site, using the catalog feature, but that seems like a lot of work and would require research as to which one of those updates your particular machine needs.
Given that you will, of course, be running AV and Firewall software on the PC, your risk of catching anything would be minimized.
