Screen Tearing/ Geforce 5700 Le

Oct 16, 2004 5:21PM PDT

With my geforce 5700 le, i get some screen tearing in low resolutions in gmaes like Halo and the new tribes beta. I dont know why cause i play gmaes that have better grpahics like call of duty at higher settings iwth no screen tearing at all. My system consists of WIndows XP Home, Amd 64 bit 2800+, 768 of ram, and an MSI K8N Neo Platinum board. If anyone could help i would appreciate it.

Such is noted if the video mode is not compatible with the display.

There is no do this fix, but most of the time I find the PC doesn't have the monitor.inf installed from the monitor maker or out of date drivers.

Thanks, so if i were to do one thing it should be to try and reinstall drivers for monitor and graphics card?

"if i were to do one thing it should be to try and reinstall drivers for monitor and graphics card? "

Yes, but it may sound nitpicking but the monitor doesn't have a "driver". The monitor.inf is more of a "capabilities" information set. Drivers have code that executes to drive some hardware.

It's a small point but is important to know if you are trying to fix an issue...
