Question

Screen shift

Dec 24, 2014 2:39AM PST

Samsung TV Model LN46A630M1F
I was experiencing some picture problem and did a manufacturer reset using the service code. After that, the screen seems to have shifted to the left a little bit. Now, I have just a thin slither of white light on the right edge and also white light showing through the edge of the front clear plastic bezel.

I think there must be some kind of setting in the service manual that I can tweet to get it back, but I don't know what some of the codes mean. Can someone help, please?

Answer
Back to those that did that service code.

That's not something considered user serviceable so get your TV tech back to correct it again.

samsungparts.com may have a service manual but as this voids the warranty and is unsupported the advice is to never use the service codes. Never. Some folk get really upset when the codes are used and the next tech tells them to replace the main board.

Screen shift

Thanks Proffitt. The TV is old and way out of warranty. No TV tech was called. It was just me. The TV works fine after I replaced the T-con board, but the screen shift was before the fix. I thought I gave that a shot before replacing the board, but the screen shifted! That's why I want to see if someone knew how to correct this problem.

Not one tech I know shares their service manual. See if there is one out at samsungparts.com
