Screen Saver and Settings only Display options?

by hairymon / April 7, 2006 4:13 AM PDT

There's a workstation here in the office that when you opt to change the display (i.e. you right click the desktop, but it happens if you click on Display in Control Panel too), the only tabs that appear are "Screen Saver" and "Settings".

There is no option for "Themes", "Desktop", or "Appearance". I have not seen this on any other workstation. The OS is Win XP Pro SP2

Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like

It may be just a workstation and the O/S is not part of it, but is on a central server. If that's the case, any changes would have to carried out from there.

hairymon, Go to the link below and scroll down to line 285 right column and download the "Restore All Display Tabs" reg file fix. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. It should correct the problem.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
