I recently downloaded a screen saver from a web site for vista that i want to use but how do i get it to install it for use? I know in xp if you went into the control panel you could choose on the list for the ones you downloaded not just the ones already on the computer thanks!

Screen Savers only slow your computer down and eat RAM. There are several choices for backround in Vista. If you pick the right one you won't need a Screen Saver.

Depends on the type...

If it's a ZIP or RAR file you have to extract the contents first. If it's an executable you have to launch the installation process for the screensaver to be installed. And if it's a standard .SCR file you may consider placing it in the C:\Windows\System32 directory and then double-clicking it the first time...it should then show up the next time you access the list of screen savers.

Hope this helps,
John
