Question

Screen on Mac os desktop question

May 17, 2014 2:33PM PDT

I have a Mac os desktop. I left the computer on, left my desk for a couple of hours and returned. When I moved the mouse the screen lit up but it was one I have never seen. It was pure white, no icons or bars or buttons. It had writing at the top that looked like unix or basic and a large icon of a hard drive in the middle of the scree. There was an arrow pointing down on top of the large icon or picture. I did not access this screen. Does anyone know what this screen was?

Answer
I've seen a lot of screens over the years.

I have yet to come up with a short explanation for what I'm going to call transitional random screens you see when computers boot, return from sleep or when a screen partially paints then the computer apparently pauses leaving an odd picture on screen

Maybe someone can write that some day. Here I blink and it's gone or I reboot said computer.
