Question

Screen mirroring samsung smart tv android

Apr 4, 2017 10:54AM PDT

I can successfully 'cast screen' from my android smartphone to my Samsung smart TV. I do need to set the TV onto screen mirroring, but that is ok and I get connection.
But after about 3 minutes the TV stops 'mirroring' and shows a message 'screen mirroring has ended'.
I can see no way of getting rid of this restriction, neither on the Samsung TV nor the android.
Anyone help, please?

Still not solved

Thanks for reply.
I don't think it could be the phone shutting down because the movie I am watching is still playing on the phone when the TV says mirroring has ended.
The Samsung patch has been cancelled and can't be downloaded.

Back to Samsung. Make it a warranty issue. They fix or replace the set.

I gave links to the issue to show what a mess this one is. When it works, great, when it breaks there are dozens if not more reasons and not everyone finds their fix.

Thanks, but not a resolution

Thanks for pointing out the link, which I have studied.

This is exactly what I have done.......................but still the TV will only 'screen mirror' for a few minutes before closing and saying, simply ''screen mirroring has ended''.

What is Samsung saying about this?

Remember this can be a sign the TV has a fault that needs repair. Example? WiFi card replacement in the TV, motherboards, etcs. Make this a warranty issue.

No warranty now

I live in France. The TV is 3+ years old. I am perfectly happy; it would be nice for screen mirroring to work properly, but I can buy a chromecast and use that.

That's the usual exit for many reasons.

Google wants this to work. Samsung? They have problems with feature death as the products age.

SOLVED!

Simple solution.
because the smartphone kept running my video when the TV said screen mirroring had finished I assumed it was not a problem with the phone display turning off.
But it was. Changed to sleep period never and screen mirroring now keeps on going.
