Screen Goes Blank When Plugging In HDMI Cable?

Apr 11, 2017 8:08AM PDT

Whenever I plug in my HDMI cable my screens go blank.
I accidentally checked a secondary box to make my display primary on my extra monitor, but before that, I WAS supposed to change a refresh rate setting on the extra monitor so the picture would appear... but now, I'm stuck with a blank screen since I didn't do the above.

I'm using Windows 10 Bootcamp via a Macbook Pro, but surely that doesn't matter right? Isn't there a button on the keyboard to switch displays? (I don't see it on my Macbook at all - Mid 2015 version)

Or even better, is there a way to just reset all HDMI / video settings to start over for Windows 10?

In Windows the settings for a secondary screen can be accessed by Winkey+P.

Winkey + P

I'll try this tonight, just an FYI that I can't see anything at all on both screens. So if I press winkey + P, will it at least disable the secondary monitor so I can access the settings menu?

Thanks for the super fast reply.

Winkey+P did the trick

Kees_B, your Winkey+P did the trick, I couldn't see my screen at all but I figured the first menu would bypass the monitor and go back to the primary computer screen. Thanks!
