Question

Screen freezes up and I get this message:

Dec 21, 2014 8:17AM PST

":not responding due to long running script" This usually happens when trying to view a slide show. It will also give me option to stop script and when I do I,ll loose page completely. IE will check for solution and all that does is pop me right back to where I was in the beginning.
I have an HP laptop with 8.1 and I,m using IE for browser.
Any ideas? Thanks

There's a lot of bad code out there so try it with other browsers and tell what site this is.

try another browser to see if you still have the problem. some browsers are more forgiving when it comes to poor coding. also you should make sure you have the latest flash installed. finally if you have any addons, you should disable them to see if it helps. finally, sometimes you can have issues if you have ad and flash blockers addons installed.

In Firefox you can visit the about:config page, put timeout in the search, go to the network entries and extend the time allowed for connections and such before they timeout.
