Screen Bruightness samsung GT-S5830i

Hello, recently I have encountered a problem with my phone. I can't change the screen brightness. When I goto settings> display> Brightness and drag the bar left or right and click ok, nothing changes. I have tried restarting the phone, restoring it to factory settings. Nothing. Still the same. Please help.
