Scratched or defective TV

I was playing Rocksmith last night when I noticed a dead area on my one month old 46 inch series 6 3D LED TV.

I asked my wife and my brother who live with us, as well as our housekeeper, but no one seems to know about it and no one bumped or scratched the TV.

<div>Has anyone suffered similar damage and can anyone confirm whether this is due to a defect or a physical scratch?
