I too have an xB. 2008 with Pioneer system and XM. I doubt that a hard disk would work. pretty sure the adapter and radio expects IPod software. you might read the manual and check with the radio manufacturer though.
are you happy with the factory speakers? I'm thinking of replacing mine and would welcome recommendations.
Scion lover who?s Ipod incompatible
Greetings C-net sophisticates,
I have a burning question which has haunted me since recently purchasing an exquisite, crushed berry tinted, 07 Scion XB with an upgraded music package. I love my car but the issue is the Ipod adapter. I don?t own an Ipod and don?t want to shell out the $300 beans or whatever to get one with a substantial hard drive, especially since my beloved e-music collection is not in the apple m4p format.
My current Zen-like fantasy is to find a way to connect a 300gig external hard drive, using an adapter for the ipod adapter cable or an alternate adapter cable altogether. I have no idea where to get adapter cable for this car, a USB version would be fantastic but. I am under the assumption that the receiver would still be able to connect and control any external hard drive music as it does with the ipod. This may be dead wrong but only you c-net professionals are allowed to crush my Zen.
If you know a way to help me rock my sleek purple box, please let me know and thanks for your time.
