I read something somewhere that indicated that a user had to reset password after a year had passed and I think it was in this forum somewhere.........I'll see if I can find it. I looked quickly at the link from cowboy, but didn't notice pw being mentioned.

I didn't find the post, but did find the following:

Resetting passwords In Windows XP, passwords have an expiration date. If you are scheduling recurring tasks that run indefinitely, you need to be aware of the expiration date on your passwords. You can reset the passwords for all of your scheduled tasks at the same time that your computer's password expires. The administrator's password never expires, so you can avoid resetting the passwords for all scheduled tasks by creating the scheduled tasks as an administrator.

Note

To change or set a new password, select the Open advanced properties for this task when I click Finish check box on the final page of the Scheduled Task Wizard.

1. Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

2. Double-click Local Users and Groups, and then click Users.

3. Double-click the user account that you want to modify, and then click to select Password never expires.

4. Click OK, and then close the Computer Management dialog box.
