Scart splitter problem - faulty cable?

Mar 8, 2005 7:43PM PST

Hi

I have the following setup:

cable TV box (scart out)
tv (scart in)
wireless transmitter (for transmitting to other tv in other room) (scart in)

I have a dvd and video too but these are connected ok.

I bought a scart splitter cable which gives the following:

out
in
out/in

I cannot get all three to work together. the following shows which combinations work and which don't - I'm thinking its a faulty cable but just wanted to make sure what I am trying will work or whether i need something else to achieve it. Ive put an x next to teh one that doesnt work in the combination.

Cable TV Wireless

out/in in out(x)
out/in out(x) in
out out/in in(x)
out in (x) out/in
in out (x) out/in(x)
in out/in(x)out(x)

Didnt expect teh last two to work of course but did expect the middle two to work - i.e. out from the cable box and out/in in to the other two. does this make sense and does it sound like a faulty cable or just teh wrong thing for the job?

thanks

Dave
