Interestingly, I had chat with our IBM rep and he had mentioned that they would be able to deliver a Shark Tank SAN to us ahead of time because they have a SURPLUS of processors and drives.
He was mentioning this because IBM had projected manufacturing requirments, but had over stated their needs.
So I don't think it is a issue with them.
Now on the otherhand, in Canada I had no problems getting a XBOX 360 for my nephew, and here in Ireland there was absolutly no problems getting one here. No line up no anything.
Consider why Apple dumped IBM in favor of Intel: IBM had serious problems making the fastest chips available. The high end Macs were always in scarce supply when each new model was announced.
Now consider the horsepower that the Xbox 360 demands and I'm going to guess the short supply of this thing lies mostly with IBM. Anybody heard if IBM has been ruled out as the bottlneck (for a change)?
