scanning 35mm slides

Nov 29, 2004 12:08AM PST

I need to scan several thousand old 35mm slides that have some historical value (Saudi Arabia 50 yrs ago). What would be the most expeditious and cost effective way to tackle this? Any favorite scanners and/or adapters that I should consider? I would probably have to do some color correction, too.

Have you looked at the Nikon Cool Scan?

In the digital camera forum a recent discussion about film scanners may be of interest.

Just bought one of these from newegg.com. INCREDIBLE job.
With photoshop, 50 yr old slides printed look like they were taken yesterday.
