Scanner Problem

Jul 19, 2007 11:43PM PDT

For no apparent reason my scanner does not now reproduce in full colour - the resultant picture is pale brown and obscure.
Previous pictures in 'My Pictures' folder still appear in full colour so I am inclined to think that it is the scanner that is at fault.

I don't want to rush out and buy a new scanner if the fault lies elswhere or, even if it is, there is some remedial action I can take.

As ususual I will be indebted anyone offering advice.

James

See if it works on another machine.

Too often this is the only way to declare it dead. What dies is the scanner lamp or the sensor. Replacement parts either are not available or cost more than the scanner. Any shop repair does exceed what a new scanner costs.
