Scanner not working

Jun 18, 2007 9:56PM PDT

My scanner, an HP flatbed scanner was originally purchased for use with Windows 98SE, when I upgraded to XP home, I was able to get XP scanner drivers, however I now upgraded to XP Pro x64 (the 64bit edition), and no drivers exist, and none are planned for this scanner - HP Scanjet 3400C.

I have contacted HP and they have confirmed this, but apart from the driver issue the scanner is working perfectly otherwise. Does anyone know where can I get 64 bit drivers for this equipment from?

by 3rd party developers. I've never heard of any. Proprietary information and all that. You're probably SOL.

Unfortunately, that driver is the one I already have for the XP 32 bit series, When I attempt to install it, I just get a message saying that the software is for an older version of computer than the one I have.

I already knew that the 32 bit version was incompatible with the 64bit O/S, what I need, as I said in my post, was a driver that would enable me to use this scanner on the Windows XP Pro x64 64bit edition rather than the XP Home 32 bit edition.

Never going to happen.

Sorry to be so blunt. Time to put the scanner on another machine for the times you need it or... DUAL BOOT another OS.

I'll have to get another scanner, I already have my eyes on one in particular, and apparantly it WILL deal with a 64 bit O/S.

Thanks for the help to both of you, it was appreciated.

Flatbed Scan22 Driver Software for VISTA 64bit
Oct 24, 2009 11:33PM PDT

I have a working Acer s2w 3300U Flatbed Scanner 22.
I have chnaged from a Windows XP PC to a new hpIQ524 Desktop working with Windows Vista 64 bit.The original discs for MIRASCAN TWAIN Driver Exe, when loaded in the new Desktop do not recognize the Scanner. The computer recognises a new hardware device. When I follow the instructions generated by the computer to identify the Driver software, it ends up with:"unable to identify.you may have to go to manufacturer for advice". When I go to ACER, there is no mention of Flatbed Scanner.
When I go Tech Support Forum, they send me in circles with User Id
or password not right.
Hence I am approaching you as the only genuine agency willing to help
an old man of 77 on his Home PC
Thanking you in anticipation.
