Scanner not found!

by fren / October 7, 2004 1:57 AM PDT

Hello,

Greetings!

I just installed a Genius ColorPage-Vivid 3X USB Scanner to my WinXP operating system but it didn't work. "The Scan Manager" always pops up and says "Scanner not found!". Based on the label posted on the installation cd, WinXP is also supported by this unit. I also tried to install the downloaded driver which came from their website but I also failed. So, I tried installing this scanner to the other operating system like Win98 and WinME and it worked. Why?

Please help me fix this problem. thank you!

When I see this, I often find the OS isn't fully installed (motherboard/USB drivers) or the USB ports are not installed. All this and more at http://www.usbman.com

In closing, Microsoft does not install these for us on most machines.

Hello R. Proffitt,

I think you're right. Okay, I'll study first the link you've given before I'll give up.

Thanks for the info...

I use Win 2000 OS, and a parallel [printer] port to connect to the scanner [colorpage vivid pro II]. It used to work well with Win 98 OS; I have downloaded and installed a driver for Win 2000, but I still get the same message "scanner not found". Please advise!

Regards.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
