Scandisk after bad shutdown..

by Fred_ME47 / January 29, 2009 4:06 PM PST

Gateway, WinMe, IE ver 6

Whenever I have a bad shutdown where computer locks and I have to shut down with power button being alt-control-del won't work. When I resart or reboot, whichever, Scan disk never completes, I've even left room and let it run for over 1/2 hr, still not complete.

Is it ok to just go into MSCONFIG Advanced and just "check" shutdown scandisk after bad shutdown?

Also, I thought If You run scandisk in SafeMode it would run straight thru, but even in safemode It keeps restarting. Just wondering.

Thanks
Fred

I can see here at "this" forum, some questions are better left not asked. And Yes, I also did a google search, a microsoft knowledge based search.

I'm so sorry I bothered anyone by posting a question...I'll never do it again.

One last thing, ah heck, nevermind. Have a great day

Fred
