Simple question in XP how do you access scandisk. When you look in system tools you only get defrag or clean disk but no scandisk.

It's no longer called Scandisk in XP

Open up My Computer, right click your drive and select Properties.

In the Properies dialogue click the Tools tab and you will find it under "Error Checking".

Some people scan for errors in Safe Mode.

Scandisk>Chkdsk

As far as I am aware it's just called a different name. Go to Control Panel Help and Support and type 'chkdsk' in the search bar. There is also 'sfc /scannow' which restores missing windows files, but as I've only ever had XP, I cannot tell which is most relevent.
