Question

scan services for b&w negs

Aug 17, 2012 4:30AM PDT

any recommendation for quality on line scan service that can do b&w 35mm negs. Many claims out there and since digital ice does not work on b&w I am concerned about placing a large order.

OK how about a service shop?

Here in my city and Vancouver, BC, Canada there are print and scan shops that do all this. If you are concerned about their work you can send in just one image and see how it turns out.

For services to scan physical negatives, it'd be much safer to bring those to a local service shop. It will cost more, but you have the opportunity to ensure that your negatives are treated properly.

On the other hand, if you have a lot, you might consider purchasing a scanner that can scan negatives in batches. Then once you're done, you sell it.
