Scan Disk function stalls

Apr 26, 2006 2:52AM PDT

In the last few days, when I try to run a scan disk operation, the function starts and then stalls. I then need to restart my machine. I minimize running programs to Explorer and Systray only. I am running Windows Me on a Dell Dimension L933r macine with Pentium III Processor. This problem is very recent and I can't correlate it with any other changes. Prior operation was fine. Can you please advise? Thank you, Dino.

That's a bad sign. Next test?

I would check the hard disk maker's web site for a DRIVE FITNESS TEST. The name of this test will vary but almost all will have a test program to see if the drive is having a problem.
