SBC yahoo will not launch

Jan 4, 2006 12:23PM PST

My SBC browser will not lauch. I click on the SBC yahoo dsl icon and the browser will come up but then pops up with an error message saying ''Yahoo browser has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience.'' If i click SEND ERROR REPORT, the browser launches again but pops up with the same message. If i click DONT SEND, the browser is closed. I've had SBC for a long time and have never had this problem until now. I have windows XP. Please tell me what I need to do or ask for any information about my computer that is needed.

Suggestions...
Jan 5, 2006 9:29AM PST

Here I'd like to offer several suggestions and tips:

* Try uninstalling and reinstalling SBC's browser.

* Click here to access SBC Yahoo's support page, from which you can chat with a live technician for free.

* See if the same problem occurs with Internet Explorer. If so, click here for instructions on how to repair IE 6.0. (The Yahoo browser is based on IE.)

* Try another browser, such as Firefox.

* Note that the "send error report" sends a datasheet about the incident to Microsoft (not the creator of the program), which is used in analyzing the types of problems faced and their possible causes. You won't receive support no matter which button you press.

Hope this helps,
John

Had problems w/ SBC browser too...
Jan 7, 2006 3:45AM PST

It worked fine on my Win 98 SE machine, but when I built a new one running XP, SBC browser wouldn't show contents of pop-ups, and neither would IE. I switched to Netscape for a while, and ultimately, I switched to Firefox. I'd suggest trying the alternatives, you may find that you like a different one better anyway.
