I have the SB6141, it handles 100mbps no problem. However, the 300mbps was recently finally turned on here(Ventura county) and it does not. In addition, ever since about 1.5 months or so prior to them switching it on, when they were (probably) doing infrastructure upgrades, my net goes out here sometimes multiple times per day. It is insanely obnoxious, and no matter how many times we call or techs come, it always seems to work out to where it is working when they come and they go "Well, we can't do anything, everything looks good." Cannot get a hold of a SB6183 at all though.. 1-2 month ship time. Complete .

Thanks for this info I currently live in a area in Kentucky where we just are know being offered 105mb service. I am looking to get mother-in-law Cable Internet so the price of these on Walmart.com is close to same price. So what I have read before is that the sb6141 is faster to startup on speeds but sb6183 is more stable after it gets up to speed. In the area I live the price of any service higher than 105mb will be to much for average consumer.

So it sounds like you don't need one right now, so...

why waste money. But if you must get one then I would pick the SB6183 (for future proof).
