Question

SB5101U Motorola cable modem

Apr 14, 2011 9:55AM PDT

Is it possible to get on the internet with 2 computers through this modem? Both computers use XP. Cable company says they can only put 1 modem in a house & we need to run 2 computers.
Thanks.

They are right. I added what they call a wifi router and all is well.

I was just told that an Ethernet Switch (whatever that is) would allow me to connect "as many computers as I want". Guess I'll find out when I go buy one.
Thanks.

Hope you are able to return that for the more common WIFI ROUTER.
