Reinstall windows
Dec 30, 2014 4:32AM PST

Hi,
If you have a product key on the bottom of your laptop, i recommend reinstalling windows using an original genuine windows disk image available here:http://www.pcworld.com/article/248995/how-to-install-windows-7-without-the-disc.html -just burn your version of windows to a disk. You will need the product key in order to do this, so if you cant find your product key, do not reinstall until you can find it. Otherwise, I would stay away from Asus. My friend has an Asus, and it is always glitching out. I recommend HP.
Good luck,
Tanner

How about drivers and helper apps?
Dec 30, 2014 4:41AM PST

If you just use a standard Windows 7 install disc, you're going to need the right drivers and helper apps. These can only be supplied by the manufacturer, in this case Asus. While it's true that Windows 7 will automatically install some drivers, these come from Microsoft, and may not be all you need to get from Asus. I'd never attempt an install without being certain I had all the drivers and helper apps needed from Asus. Listen to what Bob says and pay close attention - he knows of what he speaks! Happy
