Question

saving presets on radio mod

Mar 20, 2016 3:31PM PDT

not sure if this is the right forum but anyway... i built a box and put a car stereo and a pc psu in it and it works great for my pc when gaming and general radio also very easy to upgrade anytime, my problem is how do i save presets when i turn off the psu, i thought about rechargable batterys but not sure how to wire them also thought about one of those 9v things you plug in a cigerate lighter to save it in a car... i have about 6"l x 4"w x 3"h area to work with inside the case that can be spared the psu is on a switch

Answer
Why do you think it require power to be on at all time...

to keep the preset setting? Is that what the manual said? I don't think my radio is on standby when I turn off the ignition.

its a car stereo so it has a battery line it with a inline fuse, so like a car when u shut it off there is still power to it from the battery to save presets, however my psu is going to be shut off so the main line is gonna be dead i want to hook something to the battery line to keep the presets
