Saving music clip as an mpg file?

Dec 22, 2004 12:52PM PST

I am trying to track down the artist of a certain song I have. I found a board in which they discuss these things and I can post an attachment but it has to be an mpg file. Can't post an mp3, wma or any other standard audio extension. I can I turn the wav clip into a mpg extension. Alternatively - does anyone know of a good music forum which would allow me to post this clip for id?
Thanks.

I wouldn't let it happen since the forum databases would get bloated as well as open the doors to litigation from the owner of the work involved. I'm sure this is why forums don't do this.

Why not post it on your own web site and offer a link to it?

I guess because I haven't built my own site yet. The forum had a 250mb limit which would limit the size and quality of the clip and should negate any RIAA issues.

250mb limit = entire track or even CD.

Sorry, I see why they don't let this happen.

Any Yahoo web page will do. It's quick, easy and if you don't do this, then that shows how important this was to you. No offense meant here...

You can't be too casual about connecting your forums with music content today. Great way to feel the burn.
