Saving Excerpts or Paragraphs

Apr 19, 2005 12:55PM PDT

I've got Windows 98, and am using the Firefox Browser. Some of the relevant programs I have are Adobe, Microsoft Works. What I'd like to be able to do is to, when reading a long article, for example, 'highlite' and 'save' perhaps only that relevant short piece of the page. Not sure if that's possible, but would certainly be helpful. Thanks, Eric

the coding in web pages differs, but you surely can define the section you want and paste it into a .txt document or into Word. If Word, you might have go to with "edit" and "paste text only" instead of just paste. it might also say "paste special."

Place the mouse cursor at the beginning of the article you want to save.

Right click the mouse and hold the right button down.

Drag the mouse to the end of the article.

Let go of right click.

Hover the mouse over any of the highlighted part.

Right click, and from the menu select "Copy".

Open up Word, or even Notepad, (Start > All Programs > Accessories).

In the empty white page area, right click the mouse.

From the menu that displays, select "Paste".
