Saving DVDs onto the computer

Is there any way to save a DVD movie that I have bought onto my computer? I have Microsoft XP... any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Such a program would be subject to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and would be illegal because it strips DVDs of their encryption.

The February issue of Maximum PC magazine discusses this issue on pages 46 and 88.
