Saving downloads?

Jul 9, 2007 4:34AM PDT

And I don't mean what the Downloads Manager puts in My Downloads.
With win98 I used to view files on the Internet and it was possible to find it in Windows temporary Internet folder, then save it. With my upgrade to XP, have I been prioritized from doing that type of thing.

Saving downloads

Most users that I know of just save their downloads to the desktop and work with them from there.

Not Downloads-Files one has viewed.

I guess I shouldn't have referred to the files I view as downloads.
I thought that by merely viewing a webpage, one was in fact downloading that page's information to one's computer. At least I thought that was happening on my 98 operated machine, for when I was offline, I could go to Windows/Temporay Internet Files and view them again.

Ah...

In that case look in C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5...it's separated on a user-by-user basis and stored in your profile, not the Windows directory. If you think about it in advance you can also go File->Save for easier access down the road.

Hope this helps,
John
