If you are feeding the Coax out to both TV's through a coax splitter, And the living room TV works but the bedroom stopped working, try this...
Take the coax going to the bedroom and plug it directly into the satellite receiver, does the TV now work?? If not, is the bedroom TV on the right channel (usually ch 3). Is there a VCR connected to the bedroom TV? Is it on ch 3?, If there is a VCR try a tape and make sure the bedroom TV hasn't failed and needs repair.
Basically you have to get something to get a picture on that TV to confirm it is working, if it is working and you connect it directly to the satellite box, and get nothing, then I would suspect the coax cable connection, are you using RG6 coax cable, that is the recommended gauge for satellite signals, are any of the ends loose? Wires touching the centre pin at either end? They make a splitter that is for TV/FM that looks exactly like a regular TV splitter, Older splitters may not go to a high enough frequency, they make them up to 2Ghz now.
There are a few things to look for.
Good luck.
I have DirecTV. I have a Hughes receiver. The satellite is hooked up to my livingroom television, there is a splitter that sends a cable into the bedroom to mimic the livingroom television. Everything was working fine one day, and the next day I have no signal on the bedroom television. The livingroom is working fine. I have replaced the splitter and the cable, and still no signal in the bedroom. I even connected it to another television, and still no signal being received on the bedroom television. It does not make sense to me that after trying all the trouble shooting still no signal. Any thoughts on this?
