Satellite Broadband

Has anyone ever tired using Dish network satellite internet? My wife and I are moving next week and we just found out that Charter, our current provider, doesn't service our area because the community is too new. Her job depends on the internet and we were just wondering if anyone has had any experience with any satellite internet provider. We were thinking Dish b/c we already have them for our cable service. ANY help would really be appricated!

but it's expensive. You might consider dial-up for a while.

You might want to try this site. They have a special going on for a two way high-speed satellite system.

Dish Network will only work for fast downloads, you have to connect to dial-up for uploads.

I would first exhaust options for cable, dsl, and wireless internet first. If none of those are available I would look into Hughesnet. Dishnetwork offers two way satellite internet through Wild Blue. They are a fairly new company and there reliability sucks. I have been installing both for 4 years now. Hughes has come along way with the new HN9000 system. They are very expensive in comparison to other providers, but they are much better than dial up.
