Satellite box as a tuner?

Oct 31, 2006 10:13AM PST

If were to subscribe to Dish Network, could I use the satellite box as a tuner and plug my Cox cable line into it? I want to watch my Padres cable channel and over the air channels via basic cable yet get all the high def stuff that Dish Network offers. If so, will the satellite box decode and display the cable channel in High Def?

I have a Westinghouse LCD monitor (no card slot or tuner) so direct input of the cable coax into the monitor is not an option.

Thanks to all!

Cable tuner tuner NO!
You have two choices, if Cox has HD cable box get that.
If you get Dish, drop Cox. John

I have the Cox HD box already but the HD choices are very limited. But since I love my Padres so much I guess I'll have to stick with Cox. Thanks again for your insight!
