Satellite A70

Jan 30, 2005 10:17AM PST

Imagine my frustration, an A+ Certified M.C.S.E with a brand new Toshiba A70 laptop that doesn't seem to want to run right. After hours and hours.....and hours.....I figured out that it was in fact a static problem, and for anyone out there having these lockup problems, I am investigating the cause part by part. Bear in mind there was recently a recall on a model of Toshiba laptop that eludes me at the moment, for exactly this same problem. As for the problem getting worse, generally, in winter, it will get worse, more static. Remember the library in the school when you were a kid. Crazy static buildup. There's something lurking in the A70 that's particularly vulnerable to static, my solution for now, is to attach an anti static wrist strap to the cord where it connects, but not everyone can employ this solution. I'll post more info as I discover it.
