Recently, I began to experience problems with the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad in my Toshiba Satellite A105-S1014 (with Windows XP Home). When the laptop boots to the login screen, I can move the pointer around. But when I click (using either the left click button or the pad itself) on any of the usernames, nothing happens. I plugged a laptop mouse I have into one of the USB ports and was able to login using the mouse.
Once the laptop boots to the desktop, I tried the touchpad once again. I can move the pointer around the screen. I can also use the left click button and the touchpad to open, close, select, etc different programs and windows. However, the right click button on the touchpad will not work. The right button on the mouse, however, will work.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to (1) why I cannot use the touchpad to login to the desktop and (2) why the right click button doesn't work at all?
Thanks in advance.
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
