There is NO STANDARD in this area so I share my fix for the last one I corrected. I moved the IDE drive to the secondary IDE and in the BIOS found an option for it to set the SATA to emulate the primary IDE channels.
Remember this is an area that is not standardized so keep at it.
As you didn't supply make, model and a link to the product manual I can't see if there was an instruction in the manual.
I have a PC with two Sata drives, one with mbr or with the OS & the other acting as backup for data only (no OS). Now the Drive where all the data sits is almost full hence got a 500GB IDE drive which when u try to hook it to the system,by default the PC tries to boot from it IDEn brings a blue screen. When u check the boot sequence u get only the option for IDE,DVD&Floppy. All i want is to upgrade the drive where the data sits.My new drve is western digital.IS THERE ANY MEANS IN WHICH I CAN DISABLE THE SYSTEM BOOTING FROM NEW IDE TO SATA.
Advise Urgently.Thanking u in anticipation.Regards
