Older versions of XP need the driver on diskette, so the install program will read it after you told it by pressing f6 when it ask for scsi drivers. That's a well known procedure.

Did you already ask Dell customer support, or look at their site? Of course, it's possble they don't support it. Then it might be a nice question for our new Dell forum!

Did you try the BIOS change.

Some Dells you can disable AHCI or enable IDE emulation. I didn't read the manual to your Dell (you didn't supply a link to said manual).

However I do find it used the Q35 express Chipset from INTEL.COM. Armed with that information I find the Q35 express Chipset drivers from and Intel supplies the means to make the F6 FLOPPY for use during XP SP2 installs.

I hope you notice that I wrote XP SP2. Hope you have the right version of XP!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
