SATA as an extra storage

Jul 15, 2006 3:24PM PDT

Hi all
I am using an 80GB Seagate IDE as the main HDD and a 200GB Seagate SATA as the extra storage. Recently I formated the main HDD (80GB IDE)and installed Win XP and any drivers and controllers I had installed before. The "Device Manager" and also "Disk Manager" both detect my SATA HDD; however "My Computer" doesn't show my SATA HDD. My best guess is that it could be due to Bios configuration. Below are my mobo ans SATA HDD specifications.

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-8PE800 Ultra Onboard SATA
HDD: Seagate 200GB ST3200827AS

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you Happy

proper drivers

Download and install the latest drivers for the computer maker. Don't let Windows install what it thinks is the best driver.

Did you install the SATA/RAID driver from ther computer maker/motherboard maker?

the problem is not in drivers

i think there is no problem in driver, coz it's detected and shown in disk management. have you formated your SATA drive, i think that trouble is in this issue. so go to the disk management right click -> format. hope this will have you.
