I got the Zen Micro and couldn't be happier. Though you can get a video iPod for only $100 more, you would get all the baggage that comes along with it (awful battery life, proprietary everything).
The Zen Micro photo is awesome. Small, durable, vivid screen. Though the battery life isn't what I was hoping it would be (two to three days of use) it is easy to charge anywhere if you have a computer nearby or a wall charger.
Also (and this is a firmware issue), the DJ Shuffle mode isn't very random. A lot of the same songs get played over and over again in the same day. That is easily remedied by creating (easy) your own playlists.
Get the Zen. No doubt. It's a solid product for a great price.
Hello,
I'm finally getting close to being ready to buy an MP3 player and have narrowed it down to these 2 and would love some advice.
The Sansa sounds like a great player - i like that it uses AA batteries and is a flash player 4MB should be fine for me. i'm just not the confident about the brand. it is currently selling only at circuit city and is $200.00.
The Zen Micro gets higher ratings on this site and is a better value, but it seems like having a flash player is probably better for the overall life of the player than a microdrive.
in terms of what i want: fm radio, ease of use, long battery life, not super delicate. i'm not so interested in using it for photos or audio books. and even though i'm amazed by the video on the ipod,i don't need to spend the money on it.
In general, am I too afraid of the hard drive players? They seem to be the best value - I just have so many friends who have not had there ipods last very long.
Which one of these would you get and why?
THANKS!
