Sep 27, 2005 7:20AM PDT

I've a nes sansa 512mb and I'd upgrade firmware to the new version.
Now it has new feature as listening my favourite songs.
But I can't find the way to make my favourite list...
Can somebody help me?

You want the truth?

I got curious enough to send an e-mail to Sandisk Support asking how do you create a favorites list?
I erroneously assumed (u know what assuming does) you could somehow add the files from the menu somehow.
Anyway, they replied promply, and it works.

It is very interesting that they pulled the firmware off the site. I know they are shipping current product with the 1.0 update, cause I saw some reviews by users at Circuit City & Amazon refer to the features added.

still need directory browsing feature
Oct 21, 2005 1:04AM PDT

The one really disappointing thing in new firmware - where is no play by directory structure mode.
I need directory browsing and directory sorting - planning contacting with tech support about this feature.
Do you need this feature or not ?

Spoof it?
Oct 21, 2005 1:36AM PDT

You could probably spoof a directory browsing feature by giving each directory its own genre or year or something. You could use MP3 Tag Tools to update the files on the Sansa itself so you're not messing with your originals.

I find Genre tagging to be all over the place, to the extent that it's pretty useless (is something Rock? Alternative? Alternative & Punk?). Also, is it that important to know the year that something was made? Do you want to play only songs from 1974?

So, if you find those tags as useless as I do, you can use them as placeholders for directories.

Just a thought.

and skip 10 songs feature will be good idea too
Oct 21, 2005 1:14AM PDT

To do this we could long press Play/Pause button for example.
Is this a good idea or not ?

Sending letter to Tech Support about this and some other improvements.

P.S. After installation of new firmware i found some files in Temp dir. Resource.bin looks like rom image of Sansa player.
