Actress Sandra Dee, the blond beauty who attracted a large teenage audience in the 1960s with films such as Gidget and Tammy and the Doctor and was married to pop singer Bobby Darin, has died at the age of 63.

Dee died at the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Centre in Thousand Oaks, said Cynthia Mead, nursing supervisor.

Mead said Dee's family requested that no other details be released.

Of course, I remember Annette when she was a Mousketeer. I know she was stricken with MS. haven't heard any more about her for a long time.

Frankie Avalon hosts an infomercial here, promoting songs of that period. He has aged very well.

She was a sweetheart that us old guys liked. I never thought of her getting to be 60 years old. Something like Tuesday Weld, another I had a crush on, saw her in a TV movie not long ago, and it dawned on me we are getting in our twilight years.
