Sandisk MP3 freeze-ups

Jul 23, 2005 3:21PM PDT

Love my Sandisk (256 mb) but when I try to switch directories and click on the songs, the device freezes. The only solution I've seen so far is to remove the battery, but it still freezes in one particular directory. Any ideas out there?

Check the filenames.

You may have a filename it doesn't like or too long a filename. Another time, the owner had many hundred files in a directory.

Best of luck,

But lots of people have been saying good things about it in reviews and never said they had problems like that, I think it might just be yours or the other guy is right about the files.

Good luck with your mp3 player

That's right, to keep things on the safe side, you should not have the file names too long, and keep the number of files in each directory within a reasonable level.

Mine just started freezing up and I read the post and found that it isn't the file name length. I have found the problem to be there are to many folders. Keep more songs in one folder and keep the folders under 5.
