General discussion

Samsung YP-Z5

I just got this yesterday, aside from the size, ti's nothing really special, but it'll do.

Right now the things that are annoying me are..

1) the square thing the goes around the touch pad and has the "back", "skip", and "power/play/pause" buttons underneath it is slightly loose. it feels like it isn't glued down or soemthing and makes it feel flimsy.

2)When I put music on the player and go to play it i go Music > Artists > Artist_name > ALBUM > then it shows all the songs on that ALBUM! If i wanted to browse by album i would have chosen to do that in the first place.
Shouldn't it just show all the tracks by that artist after you select the artist???

Ha, look at my message iv just commented upon this. It is indeed very annoying, more so if the album info isn't there to select from a list of 'unknown' album tracks. However, a very kind person has posted some solutions (can't remember name oops...).

On the whole, yes i agree, if i wanted to choose albums id click album. BUT HEY even then famous, all singing, amazing interface iPod forces you to choose from the album screen!!

One of the most amazing things about the Z5 is the dedicated volume controls though, you gotta admit, this is priceless!!

on mine the square ring does not feel loose at all.

ummm...you DID actually choose to do that by selecting "album". If you want all songs by an artist:
When you choose an artist the selection at the top says "All". This, amazingly enough, will display ALL of the songs by that artist. You can even shuffle them if you want to.

I see that ...BUT, WHY does it show songs from another artist???
For examply...i go
MUSIC > ARTIST > "some artist" > the Album their on > player shows entire album.

now, if this were THAT artists ablum, there is no problem, but, what happens if that album u chose has various artists? a mixtape or something, then it shows all the songs on that album, even ones from the artist you didn't choose. I think if you choose the artist and album it should only show you the songs from THAT ARTIST.

I think it was an oversight by samsung. anyway, i'm takin it back since that square thing is loose.

It's not something you would ever realize if you don't have various artist albums on your player.

I realized i wasn't clear in my first post that it was only with albums with different artists.

Could be something the firmware guys never thought of it.
